KitaabWorld and Masalamommas’ first Summer Writing Competition is on! Have you got your budding writer to send in a submission yet? Meet our judges who will be reading, evaluating and judging the winning entries!

 

Sailaja N Joshi is the CEO and Founder of Bharat Babies, a publishing house that specializes in creating developmentally appropriate books that are inspired by India with a story for all. She is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds masters degrees from Harvard University and Simmons College. At Harvard University, she worked for several years as a writing tutor within the continuing education program and brings that experience to this competition. Her favorite Indian festival is Diwali!

 

 

 

 

Parveen Kaur Dhillon is the author of My First Sikh Books and Lohri The Bonfire Festival. She is an American born, culturally Punjabi Indian mother of three young children. She lives in San Jose, California and loves celebrating and learning about holidays, dancing, organizing community events and being involved in her children's activities. Before becoming a full time mother and author, Parveen worked in the startup world in marketing and business development. Her favorite Indian festival is Lohri!

  

Anjum Choudhry Nayyar is the founder of the first online magazine for South Asian moms called masalamommas.com. She won the 2012 Breaking Barriers Award  through The Hot Mommas Project, for masalamommas.com and, her profile is now part of the world’s largest women’s case study library, providing free online access to stories of female role models and mentors. She has a Masters from Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and has covered stories from the juvenile court house in Chicago and as well as Capitol hill during the Clinton presidency. Her favorite Indian festival is Diwali!
